BC Hydro is planning to build an additional power line to ensure Woodfibre LNG has reliable access to clean and renewable power.
To meet Woodfibre’s long-term power requirements, BC Hydro will design and build the Woodfibre LNG Interconnection Project Stage 2, an additional 19-kilometre, 138-kilovolt overhead power line within the current right of way from Cheekye Substation through Brackendale. By using an existing right of way acquired for this purpose, we will minimize environmental impacts.
Woodfibre LNG is committed to building one of the lowest emission liquified natural gas export facilities in the world, creating local jobs, getting more Canadian energy to global markets and setting a new standard for responsibly produced LNG.
We’re in the early planning stages and committed to open, transparent communications with First Nations, local governments, the public and anyone affected by Project construction.
