PROJECT TIMELINE AND MAPS

The Woodfibre LNG Interconnection Project Stage 2 is in the early planning stages and committed to open and transparent communications.
This includes meaningful consultation with First Nations, and engaging with local government, the public and anyone affected by construction.
Once planning is more advanced and construction details are available they will be publicly shared to keep the community informed.
To power the Woodfibre LNG facility we are routing power through Bridge River Terminal. This will include an additional 19-kilometre, 138-kilovolt overhead power line to provide 126 megawatts of electricity to Woodfibre LNG on the west side of Howe Sound.
By building an additional overhead power line within an existing right of way, the project avoids creating a new transmission line route and will minimize environmental impacts.
Thermal upgrades are required at select structures along an existing overhead transmission line between Function Junction Substation near Whistler and Bridge River Terminal Substation near Seton Lake.
Thermal upgrades strengthen power lines so they can safely carry more electricity without overheating, boosting reliability and capacity.
